Parce qu'on vient de loin

honestly, i feel she did the song with more feeling than Corneille…

Corneille by the way, is a Rwandan survivor of the horrible genocidal war that took place in that country in the late 1990s. Both his parents were brutally murdered. below is the original music video for the song.

the song is so beautiful, even for those who don’t understand french, you’d know it holds a deep meaning…

Nous sommes nos propre pères
Si jeunes et Pourtant si vieux
Ca me fait penser Tu sais

A rien

Mes chers

i managed to find the english translation of the song : )

We are our own fathers, so young yet so old.

It makes me think…you know

We are our own mothers

So young and so serious, but it’s going to change

‘cause we keep making plans for the next day

While the good times pass and leave us empty and uncertain.

We spend too much time sweating, and working hard

And for what, if we’re not even sure if we’re going to see anything tomorrow

Instead, we should live each as if it’s our last

If you only knew

How many times we just missed the end of the world.

We come from afar

When times are hard

We say: Nothing is worse than what we’ve suffered.

And when winter endures

We just say: We’ll be warm again

It’s easy that way

Day after day

We see how ephemeral it all is

And even in love

I’ll love every queen

as (if) she were the last

The air is heavy

When we live only on prayers

As for me, I try to enjoy each second

Long before the light goes out

Day after day

We see how ephemeral it is

Let’s live while we still can

My dear
