Sponsored Review : Mygenlife Bustful Nectar

If your goals include detoxing, slimming down, achieving better skin or keeping your bust perky, Mygenlife might just be what you need! There are 5 different “Nectars” in Mygenlife’s range of drinks and I was sent the “Bustful Nectar” for review!

Before I get into the review of the Bustful Nectar, here’s a quick look at the other four nectars! I’d personally love to try them, with the exception of the slimming one of course, don’t think I have any extra weight I need to lose. I’ll definitely be checking out reviews of the other nectars by fellow Sample Store bloggers!

We all know by now how important Collagen is in keeping us looking and feeling youthful, but if we could get our much needed daily dose of Collagen and keep our reproductive system healthy at the same time, why not?

20131220_120400

The Bustful Nectar contains 4 main ingredients:

Collagen Peptide renders elasticity to the breasts, nourishes the ligaments to boost the bust line.
Pueraria Mirifica, also known as กวาวเครือ Kwao Krua is a great source of classical phytoestrogens that supports development of your bust.
Green Papaya Juice has a rare enzyme that supports and simulates breast glands which is beneficial to your bust line.
Wild Yam contains phytonutrients that supports the stimulation of breast growth. In addition, it is beneficial to women’s reproductive health.

Combined with other ingredients like Blueberry juice, Black Jujube juice, and other root extracts, this is one bottle of natural goodness to boot! So what exactly does a “concoction” of Kwao Krua, Green Papaya, Wild Yam, Blueberries and Black Jujube taste like? Like a fruit juice of course! It actually taste quite similar to prune juice with a slightly bitter aftertaste, it didn’t bother me very much though!

mygenlife2

With all that goodness packed into one tiny bottle, it is convenient to pop one into your bag each morning to take to work. The dark colored glass bottles keep out UV light and protect the integrity of its contents. Being a DIY junkie, I’ll definitely be keeping these glass bottles around for other uses instead of throwing them out!

Priced at slightly over $8 per bottle, the price is definitely a consideration point and results are said to show within 4 weeks with the other nectars so it’s really hard to say after a week whether it worked or not. For $200 a month, if something safe and natural that works from the inside out can produce visible results, I think it is worth a shot. After all, it sure beats spending thousands on invasive aesthetic treatments later on that are only address the surface problem. Like I always say, prevention is better than cure so take care of your skin and body while you’re young!

Each box of Mygenlife’s Nectars contain 6 (50ml) bottles and retails at $49.90, available at Guardian Pharmacies and online from Hannah Holdings.

Sponsored Review : Hada Labo SHA “Light” Hydrating Lotion

If you’ve been reading my blog, you’d know that I’ve been using Hada Labo products since 2010! In 2010 I got to try the SHA Hydrating Lotion and facial wash when The Sample Store was still known as fr3b, and I’ve been totally digging Hada Labo’s products ever since, my daddy loves it too! ♥

20131030_140210

How much I ♥ Hada Labo! My current “stash” of Hada Labo lotions!

Lately, I’ve been using Hada Labo’s ES Lotion for sensitive skin and it has worked very well for me. Just over two months ago I had a really bad chemical burn/allergy of sorts (still no idea what exactly caused it) and I don’t know what I would have done if I didn’t have the ES Lotion on hand, it was a total skin saver coupled with my prescription cream. Yes, the ES Lotion is that gentle, even on delicate skin.

Anyhoos! I was totally psyched when I found out that Hada Labo released a new “Light” formulation of the SHA Hydrating Lotion for oily, combination and acne prone skin. The SHA Hydrating Lotion worked well for me, but a formula made specifically for those of us battling with less than perfect skin?

YES PLEASE! :)

The new SHA Light Hydrating Lotion delivers the same deep hydration as the original one, but it absorbs a lot faster and doesn’t feel sticky at all upon application, leaving your skin feeling supple and refreshed!

As with all of their lotions, a little goes a long way! You’ll be surprised at how little you need each time, which makes this product very economical too!

Did you know? Hada Labo’s Hydrating Lotions are actually toners!

But! Hada Labo’s SHA Hydrating Lotions are more than just toners. Apart from removing impurities & residue, they also moisturise the skin from surface to deep within with its 3 types of Hyaluronic acid!

If you’ve tried the SHA Hydrating Lotion, you’re probably familiar with that somewhat sticky feeling on your skin immediately upon application, right? Although it doesn’t really bother me, I guess some people may not find the sticky feeling comfortable even though it goes away once the lotion is fully absorbed.

If you’re looking for a lighter formula sans the sticky after feel, you’ll love the light version. I’d say the original SHA Hydrating Lotion might be more suitable for those with dry skin, or if you spend a lot of time in air-conditioned places. If you happen to have both though, why not alternate between the two? Light for day and the original for more intense night time hydration.

You know how toners are typically applied with a cotton pad?

1240468_711740332173640_1917583051_n

If you’re more used to cotton pad swiping your face with toner cause it gives you a cleaner feel, guess what? You can do that with the new light formula! Just soak a cotton pad with a sufficient amount of lotion and go over your entire face with sweeping motions, I tried this and you really don’t need a lot! If you’re applying it with your fingers, make sure to use a patting motion instead to ensure maximum absorption.

Beauty tip!

Feel like your skin is as dry as the Sahara Desert? Just soak up a couple of cotton pads or a paper mask with lotion and apply for a couple of minutes. I haven’t tried this but I’m pretty sure you’ll get pretty good results.

I hope you girls found this review beneficial! Feel free to read my previous Hada Labo reviews if you’d like to know more about the brand.

Hada Labo’s skincare philosophy: “ PERFECT X SIMPLE ”

Ultimate perfection with ultimate simplicity. Inspired by traditional Japanese beauty wisdom, Hada Labo adopts a “No More, No Less” philosophy in the formulation of its products. Unnecessary additives such as colorant, fragrance and mineral oil that burden skin are omitted. Only beneficial, essential ingredients are retained to ensure maximum effectiveness – Only the best for your skin and nothing else…

I love my Hada Labo products, I’m sure you will too! :)

Following The Sample Store’s relaunch, they have introduced this uber cute packaging! It looked like a bag of candy waiting in the mail, and although it wasn’t candy, it sure was a sweet surprise! The resealable zip lock makes this cute bag reusable, great for storing and organising all future samples. I also like the fact the the packaging is waterproof, which means your samples are safe even if they get soaked wet by the rain! A welcome revamp indeed! ♥

sun lovin' with sunplay!

to be honest, i’ve never been a fan of sunscreen cos i’ve always found it troublesome, period. i mean, seriously, toner, moisturiser, then we spend maybe a half hour getting all dolled up before heading out. squeezing in a minute or two to slap on sunscreen, and then having to get it all off your hands… grrrrrrrr see my point?

thesamplestore sent me two products that would possibly change my take on messy sunscreen. the first being the Super Block liquid formulation with the highest sun protection of SPF 130PA+++! (it’s the smaller of the two) it’s a white milky liquid that comes out of a “squeeze bottle”, but dries clear and is suitable for use on both face & body. it smells like most makeup bases i’ve tried, a tad.. chalky? i can’t quite figure it out but i wouldn’t worry much about the scent. it is waterproof, light & non-greasy, but i’m not sure if i’d want to use the sunscreen in addition to moisturizer before make up. it doesn’t say if it is non-comedogenic tho, so those especially with oily skin might want to think about using this on your face. this is Watson’s top selling sunscreen!

the second product would be the UV Body Mist Sunblock. i call it  “sun-salvation in a can”. this one has a light, citrusy scent which actually somewhat made me think of air freshener at first.. i haven’t been sun-burnt the past few weeks so i can’t really say if it is effective in soothing sun burnt skin. the cool sensation only lasted a split second when sprayed on… it’s not greasy, but it doesn’t exactly disappear into your skin either. but hey it’s my skin’s protection against the sun so i won’t complain too much. this one is both waterproof & sweat proof. perfect for when playing outdoor sports & taking a dip in the pool!

sunblock, in a spray can. no more messy cleanups, no time-consuming complains cos even if you’re rushing to leave home, it’s as easy as throwing the can in your bag and spraying it on when you get the chance to. suddenly, i have no excuse not to use sunscreen. :)

the Super Block SPF 130PA+++ (35g) retails for $17.20 & the UV Body Mist SPF 80PA+++(150ml) retails for $17.90

if you want to protect your skin from premature aging, spray on some Sunplay!
