Antoinette, avec mon cheris

We’ve been talking about Antoinette for the longest time now, but the visit had been pushed back time & time again. BUT! We finally made the dinner over the weekend. It’s definitely not a place for huge gatherings; very cosy, and you should be on your best behaviour, and have some royal etiquette. (just kidding)

crêpe with smoked salmon, cream cheese, capers & salad

salad lyonnaise

burger royale

blueberry blinis with vanilla cream chantilly & maple syrup

choux pastry with rose-infused glaze & fresh cream

…sweet endings

I don’t usually have good things to say about the service standard in Singapore, but the staff here were really quite patient & considerate despite packing a full house. We changed tables twice cos Mimi was late, but they handled us very well! Kudos for that.

Antoinette is located at : 333A Orchard Road, Mandarin Gallery #02-33/34  Singapore 238897 Tel: 68369527

They also have outlets at Penhas Road & Scarlet Hotel. You might want to check out their Facebook page.  I hope this made you very hungry. :)

my 26th birthday at Lawry's The Prime Rib (via cinnamonsin)

after 3 days of celebrations, and 3 days of being back to reality, the fact that i’m already 26 still hasn’t really sunk in. butttttttttt, it was probably the best birthday ever! (or should i say so far in 26 years?) seriously, do you know anyone who celebrates their birthday for a whole 3 days?

the joys in my life right now, you should know all their names by now! and nicole of course, being nicole. she bought me those balloons and fyi, they’re still inflated and floating. i wonder if it will ever deflate?

mummy & daddy, who do i look like? everyone says i have mummy’s eyes, but that’s about it? :/

honestly i’ve never been the flower sort of girl. i used to be obsessed with blue roses at some point but that was a really long time ago and i never quite knew what to do with the flowers after they wither. i tried drying them to keep but then they just dry up and break down and become nothing. in the end i have to throw them away anyway..

the sunflower ed gave me :)

i never quite realised how cute sunflowers were. i have plans for this one when it withers… time to cultivate green fingers and try growing sunflowers outside my bedroom window! i hope it works? hahaha wish me luck! will probably need mummy’s expertise tho…

anyhoos! ed’s done a review on our dinner at Lawry’s! :)

Lawry's The Prime Rib ED: There’s something primal and prehistoric about having a gigantic roasted tenderloin trophy presented before everyone seated at the dinner table. My pupils enlarged and posture stiffened as the chef parked a shiny metallic sumo warmer right beside our table. The chef unintentionally teased us by lifting the lid once to check and everyone cranked their necks sideways just to take a peek! Which was a terrible mistake as the chef shut the lid and … Read More

Time For Friends

In the past, for some reason i always hated last minute plans.. i always wanted things to go according to my plan and my plan only. if it worked out some other way the first thing i’d do is get pissed. but i guess the break up taught me a lot, and made me realise, the world doesn’t revolve around yourself, as much as you want it to, it doesn’t.

i’ve been spending a lot of time with my friends… dinners, mainly.

just 3 days back we went to Wild Honey at Mandarin Gallery. it’s one of my favourite places to go to. the food is awesome, the ambience is classy yet warm and homely. there’s so many dishes on the menu but i somehow always end up having the english breakfast. okay, twice.

mimi had the vietnamese pulled pork sandwich and jones had the european breakfast of eggs benedict.

jones wasn’t 100% full from his portion so we ordered belgian waffles! it tasted a lot like some nonya kueh with grilled mangoes and toasted coconut…. yummmmaayyyyyyy! doesn’t everything just look so good?

above : vietnamese pulled pork sandwich // belgian waffles with grilled mangoes

and jones bought us candy from japan! which i have almost finished. i’m so addicted to it that he asked his friend to bring more back in march… my candy isn’t gonna last till then! :/

the three of us have been hanging out a whole lot lately. in fact i just had hot wings with jones at Sunset yesterday… yet another impromptu dinner which i ended up enjoying very much. the perks of having a car eh? i’m very single, jones is attached, sometimes i wonder if his girlfriend hates me cos we can have dinners like twice a week… and mimi is… well, let’s just say involved with someone… but i’ve never appreciated my friends more than i do now. they’re always there for you, no matter what.

Wild Honey!

Over a week ago it was Alvin’s birthday and since I couldn’t decide what to get for him, I bought him dinner at Wild Honey the day after!

Shawn told me about the place and I had been dying to try out the food there for the longest time! The moment we got there i fell in love with the place. Like it says, there’s no place like home, and at Wild Honey, it really does feel like home. The ambience is really warm and the layout is really cosy… Proper tables or lazy sofas with coffee tables, it’s your choice.

i found it pretty cool that they had an iPad for a menu!

Okay enough rambling… this is the real deal! I had the full English breakfast. everything is really good. the eggs are perfect, the bacon is not too oily.  Don’t underestimate this platter, I could barely finish!

Alvin had the pancakes! The berry sauce was really yummy! I don’t think he managed to finish either… lol

Price wise, if I remember correctly it was just under $70 for both of us. One dish and a drink. A tad on the higher side, but for the quality of food and the overall ambience, I’m definitely looking forward to trying more dishes soon!

Meanwhile, check out Wild Honey online :
