Sponsored Review : Hada Labo 3-in-1 Arbutin Whitening Perfect Gel Moisturiser

Hada Labo launches the NEW 3-in-1 Arbutin Whitening Perfect Gel for fair, bright and bouncy skin! Fast absorbing and non-oily in texture, this whitening gel boosts 3-in-1 skincare product benefits of Essence + Moisturiser + Paper Mask!

If you want to get the most out of your skin care and save time while you’re at it, Hada Labo’s new 3-in-1 Whitening Perfect Gel Moisturiser will do just that!

Remember my review on Hada Labo’s Whitening Arbutin Lotion? Just like the lotion, the gel also contains 3 key ingredients.

Natural Arbutin contains a high concentration levels at 3% of Japanese pharmaceutical-level Arbutin to offer effective whitening results. This enhances skin fairness and targets dark spots.

Vitamin C is a proven anti-oxidant that enhances collagen production, inhibits the appearance of dark spots and reawakens the appearance of dull skin.

Hyaluronic acid is a natural component found on skin. The duo of Hyaluronic acid and nano hyaluronic acid molecules instantly hydrate and lock-in moisture, keeping skin soft, smooth & bouncy.

(Spatula is not included)

I have been using Hada Labo lotions daily (currently Hada Labo’s ES Lotion for Sensitive Skin) in my skincare regime followed by my own cream moisturisers, so I was really excited when this product was launched. As its name suggests, the Perfect Gel is what it is, a gel. Unlike cream moisturisers, this being in gel form is more readily absorbed into the skin and of a much lighter texture as well. This saves time since you don’t need to wait long for your moisturiser to be fully absorbed before you can apply make up to avoid that cakey effect.

Upon application, the gel becomes more fluid.

It creates a cool and refreshing feeling on the skin, you can see and feel the instant hydration. It absorbs very quickly and leaves no oily film on your skin.

It is recommended that you apply the gel after applying lotion, but I sometimes skip the lotion and apply this after my SK-II Facial Treatment Essence. On days when I feel like my skin could use that bit more hydrating, I apply a little more of the gel at night before bed and use it as a sleeping mask for dehydrated skin. This is a great gel to use under make up. Some moisturisers don’t allow make up to sit well on the skin, resulting in your make up caking or just sliding off, but with this gel, I get perfectly hydrated skin that’s ready for foundation or BB creams.

Hada Labo 3-in-1 Whitening Perfect Gel retails at $38.90 for an 80g jar and is available at Watsons, Guardian, Robinsons, BHG, NTUC, OG, Sasa and Unity.

Sponsored Review : Hada Labo SHA “Light” Hydrating Lotion

If you’ve been reading my blog, you’d know that I’ve been using Hada Labo products since 2010! In 2010 I got to try the SHA Hydrating Lotion and facial wash when The Sample Store was still known as fr3b, and I’ve been totally digging Hada Labo’s products ever since, my daddy loves it too! ♥

How much I ♥ Hada Labo! My current “stash” of Hada Labo lotions!

Lately, I’ve been using Hada Labo’s ES Lotion for sensitive skin and it has worked very well for me. Just over two months ago I had a really bad chemical burn/allergy of sorts (still no idea what exactly caused it) and I don’t know what I would have done if I didn’t have the ES Lotion on hand, it was a total skin saver coupled with my prescription cream. Yes, the ES Lotion is that gentle, even on delicate skin.

Anyhoos! I was totally psyched when I found out that Hada Labo released a new “Light” formulation of the SHA Hydrating Lotion for oily, combination and acne prone skin. The SHA Hydrating Lotion worked well for me, but a formula made specifically for those of us battling with less than perfect skin?

The new SHA Light Hydrating Lotion delivers the same deep hydration as the original one, but it absorbs a lot faster and doesn’t feel sticky at all upon application, leaving your skin feeling supple and refreshed!

As with all of their lotions, a little goes a long way! You’ll be surprised at how little you need each time, which makes this product very economical too!

Did you know? Hada Labo’s Hydrating Lotions are actually toners!

But! Hada Labo’s SHA Hydrating Lotions are more than just toners. Apart from removing impurities & residue, they also moisturise the skin from surface to deep within with its 3 types of Hyaluronic acid!

If you’ve tried the SHA Hydrating Lotion, you’re probably familiar with that somewhat sticky feeling on your skin immediately upon application, right? Although it doesn’t really bother me, I guess some people may not find the sticky feeling comfortable even though it goes away once the lotion is fully absorbed.

If you’re looking for a lighter formula sans the sticky after feel, you’ll love the light version. I’d say the original SHA Hydrating Lotion might be more suitable for those with dry skin, or if you spend a lot of time in air-conditioned places. If you happen to have both though, why not alternate between the two? Light for day and the original for more intense night time hydration.

You know how toners are typically applied with a cotton pad?

If you’re more used to cotton pad swiping your face with toner cause it gives you a cleaner feel, guess what? You can do that with the new light formula! Just soak a cotton pad with a sufficient amount of lotion and go over your entire face with sweeping motions, I tried this and you really don’t need a lot! If you’re applying it with your fingers, make sure to use a patting motion instead to ensure maximum absorption.

Beauty tip!

Feel like your skin is as dry as the Sahara Desert? Just soak up a couple of cotton pads or a paper mask with lotion and apply for a couple of minutes. I haven’t tried this but I’m pretty sure you’ll get pretty good results.

I hope you girls found this review beneficial! Feel free to read my previous Hada Labo reviews if you’d like to know more about the brand.

Hada Labo’s skincare philosophy: “ PERFECT X SIMPLE ”

Ultimate perfection with ultimate simplicity. Inspired by traditional Japanese beauty wisdom, Hada Labo adopts a “No More, No Less” philosophy in the formulation of its products. Unnecessary additives such as colorant, fragrance and mineral oil that burden skin are omitted. Only beneficial, essential ingredients are retained to ensure maximum effectiveness – Only the best for your skin and nothing else…

I love my Hada Labo products, I’m sure you will too! :)

Sponsored Review : Hada Labo ES Lotion for Sensitive Skin

If you have sensitive skin, you’ll understand how frustrating it is to try hard to find the perfect skincare range that won’t give you adverse side effects. It’s no fun at all, plus, you might end up wasting lots of money on stuff that your skin might not agree with. I mean, what do you do with hundreds of dollars worth of skin care when your face breaks into a rash after a week?

Screen Shot 2013-06-23 at 12.04.47 AM

Those with sensitive skin should try as far as possible to avoid stuff like mineral oils, fragrance, colorants, preservatives and alcohol in products, and Hada Labo recognises that need. The ES range is formulated with a 5 additive-free formula. That means no alcohol,no fragrance, no colorants, no preservatives and no mineral oils. YAY!

Like all their other products, the ES series also contains 2 key ingredients, 3 kinds of Hyaluronic Acid (Nano, Super and Normal) that effectively ultra-hydrates even the innermost layer of your skin. The addition of Zinc Gluconate nourishes, conditions and protects sensitive skin from the harsh environment. Zinc also plays an important part in the repairing of our skin. During this period of haze, trust me, we need all the protection we can get to shield our skin from irritants.

This mild ph-balanced formula also helps to strengthen skin barrier function and reduce skin irritation, while keeping skin healthy and beautiful.

This lotion is a lot more easily absorbed and it really just feels like splashing water on your face. Skin is instantly hydrated and shows no sign of irritation, it also works as a pretty good makeup base for me!

The ES Lotion is definitely my favourite out of all the other Hada Labo products I have tried and reviewed.

The ES range consists of 4 products, available exclusively at Guardian Pharmacies nationwide!

  • ES Cleansing Foam Wash (160ml) $16.90
  • ES Lotion (170ml) $25.90
  • ES Milk (140ml) $25.90
  • Makeup Remover (150ml) $20.90

So, if you have sensitive skin, you’re not alone! Hada Labo’s complete ES series costs under $90 and it’s all you’ll need.

Print out the voucher below and enjoy $2 off the ES Trial Kit, and make sure you “Like” Hada Labo on Facebook for more information and promotions! :)

Sponsored Review : Hada Labo Arbutin Whitening Lotion

This came for me over a week ago, and my Hada Labo collection has grown yet again! This is my 6th Hada Labo post since 2011! You’ve read about the hydrating lotions, well here’s one with whitening properties, Hada Labo’s new Arbutin Whitening Lotion.

I believe there’s a misconception when it comes to whitening products, many think it’ll make your face white, literally, but that’s not the case! No, you’re not going to look a ghostly white after using whitening products. Hada Labo’s whitening lotion delivers 3 benefits in one step with Arbutin, Vitamic C and Hyaluronic Acid.

Arbutin is an extract from the bearberry plant, widely recognised as a “beautification plant”. It’s natural whitening properties enhances the skin’s fairness and helps to fight dark spots and renew dull skin to reveal clearer, fairer skin.

Vitamin C enhances the skin’s fairness while it repairs dry, dull skin caused by exposure to UV rays.

Needless to say, Hyaluronic Acid deeply hydrates your skin!

Compared to the SHA Hydrating Lotion, this one has a more watery consistency. Within seconds of application, it is soaked up by your skin! Skin feels instantly revitalised and prepped for better absorption of other products. Did you know makeup goes on better when your skin is hydrated? Your skin will appear smoother when dry spots are taken care of.

I use this twice daily and I hope it will help lighten some remaining acne marks, perhaps the Whitening Essence would speed up the fading process. There are four products in the whitening range, here’s a little snippet of each product :

The whitening range is priced between $21.90 to $31.90. and are available at Watsons, Guardian, Sasa, NTUC Fairprice, Unity and other departmental stores nationwide!

“Like” Hada Labo’s Facebook page and go to the “FREE SAMPLES” tab to redeem from 1st November! At the moment, they have an ongoing redemption for the Hydrating Milk, simply refer two friends and you will get yourself a travel sized Hada Labo Hydrating Milk! ♥

Sponsored Review : Hada Labo SHA Moisturizing Eye Cream & Hydrating Lotion

For those of you who have been reading my blog, you’ll realise this isn’t the first time I am doing a Hada Labo review, in fact, this would be my FIFTH! Today, I’m going to tell you what I think of two of their latest products. :)

First up, Super Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Lotion

It has always amazed me how a few drops of the hydrating lotion can practically drown your face in hydration. When they say “one drop locks up an ocean”? Trust me, it does. The moment the lotion comes into contact with your skin, it somehow magically bursts into more than what was a few drops of lotion.. Within seconds, it is fully absorbed and keeps your skin well-hydrated all day!

When I got my first bottle of Hada Labo’s Hydrating Lotion back in 2010, even my dad (YES, MY DAD!) was sold right away, and he’s still using it!

But it gets better and better…

The lotion now boasts a superior combination of not 1, not 2, but Super Hyaluronic Acids, the latest addition being the Nano Hyaluronic Acid. The new “nano” hyaluronic acid molecule is 1/20 of the normal hyaluronic acid’s, allowing much deeper and fuller hydration.

…Not just for your face!

For some really odd reason, the knuckle of one my fingers tends to get dry and itch a lot and if it happens at night it actually keeps me awake. It could be because I once scrapped it on a piece of bad wood but anyhoos, I decided to put a bit of the lotion on it cos it was right next to my bed and guess what? It worked! So I’m guessing if you have any rough patches, knees, elbows, this might very well work some magic too!

Next up, Super Hyaluronic Acid Moist Eye Cream

The skin around our eyes are thinner and requires more care since that’s where age will start to show. In addition to the 3 types of Hyaluronic Acids, the eye cream contains two other ingredients. ACTIFLOW ingredient which increases blood circulation, helps lighten dark circles and elevate puffiness, and Jojoba oil that smoothens fine lines around the eyes.

The cream is pH balanced, free from animal derivatives, fragrance, mineral oils, alcohol and colorants, making it suitable even for people with sensitive skin. YAY! The cream is to be applied twice daily after the hydrating lotion. I use this before make up and under-eye concealing is so much less of a chore. Makeup generally goes on better when your skin is hydrated!

Sponsored Review : Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Acid Moisturising UV Milk with SPF50 PA+++

Over the weekend, we spent a day out at sea so I definitely needed a good sunblock and Hada Labo’s new UV Moist Emulsion was a skin saver! I still burned a little, but it’s nothing compared to how Robin is peeling all over like a snake. You know that really tight feeling when you get sun burned? I used the moisturising milk and felt so much better!

I’m usually really skeptical about moisturisers that are white cos they usually are greasy and leave a white residue so I was pleasantly surprised how quickly my skin absorbs the emulsion! Within a minute of application, it is fully absorbed into the skin leaving no residue whatsoever. Because it is not greasy, it acts as a perfect makeup base especially if you have oily skin.

The UV milk is gentle on skin and keeps the skin’s pH levels balanced. It is free of artificial ingredients such as fragrances, mineral oil, alcohol & colorants that may cause irritation, especially when used on sensitive skin. This one’s definitely a YAY! xx

Hada Labo’s Super Hyaluronic Acid Moisturising UV Milk with SPF50 PA+++  is available in a 38ml bottle, priced at S$19.90. Exclusively at Watsons.

sponsored review : hada labo cleansing oil with high purity olive oil

I was surprised the first time I used this, it removes makeup really fast and washes off so clean, you don’t really need to use a cleanser after. This is unlike other oil-based cleansers I have used that leave a greasy residue after rinsing with water. It also removes waterproof mascara and eyeliners. Because you don’t need to use a cotton pad, it reduces the friction caused during cleansing, especially around the eye area where skin is more delicate. You don’t just get a good clean, with the Super Hyaluronic Acid, your skin is also left well moisturised!

See how it works! :)

I’m giving this cleanser two thumbs up! :)

Priced at $20.90, the cleansing oil is available exclusively at Watsons stores islandwide. xx

stop aging in its tracks!

Hada Labo introduces a new lifting & firming range consisting of 5 new products that aim to restore youthful bounciness to your skin. With 3 potent ingredients, Vitamin A Retinol, Hydrolyzed Collagen & their signature ingredient, Super Hyaluronic Acid, you can now stop skin aging in its tracks.

I’ve been using the Retinol Lifting + Firming Lotion for about two weeks now & I’m loving it. I was previously using the Super Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Lotion. They both provide intense hydration, and creates the perfect base for makeup. No more scaly dry patches, yay!

I can’t say if it really reduces fine lines & wrinkles cos i’m still in my 20s & technically those undesirables shouldn’t be on my face yet, BUT! I’m pretty sure it does what it claims to do..

The Retinol Lifting + Firming Lotion is of a slightly thicker consistency as compared to the SHA Hydrating Lotion. Notice how my skin appears significantly smoother after the lotion application? :)

But of course, if you’re not convinced, Hada Labo is more than willing to let you sample before you make a buying decision.

( click here to redeem your free sample! )

On Hada Labo’s Facebook page you will also find more information on their range of products and also tips for healthy, happy skin. They suggest patting chilled SHA moisturing lotion on the nose and cheek area to deal with large pores. Now that, I want to try.

If you’re wondering about value for money, I’m giving Hada Labo two thumbs up. You only need a drop or two for each application & the 170ml bottle will last you a pretty long time. For $25.90, what’s not to love?

Hada Labo’s Latest Lifting & Firming Range is available at all Watson’s stores.

Hydrate with Hada Labo

got my full size Hada Labo samples last week, courtesy of Fr3b!

i’ve been using the facial wash and hydrating lotion twice daily for about 3 days, and i love how it make my skin feel! it does exactly what it says, leaves skin fully hydrated and soft. i know you must be thinking that this won’t be suitable for you if you have oily skin, but remember, even oily skin needs to be hydrated! i have combination skin and it works really well! in fact i reckon my makeup goes on and stays on better too!

you only need a tiny pea size squeeze of the facial wash, it lathers up really well. same with the hydrating lotion, just 3 to 4 drops will do the trick, and my skin drinks it up in seconds! would i buy the rest of the Hada Labo range? definitely worth considering!

But for now, you girls can grab free samples, and then decide if you want to put your money on it!
