The Perpetual Spring Collection Revival!

I had initially planned to launch these updated and new pieces last week, but if you’re following my Instagram, I got totally derailed by the TraceTogether token! I started making cosies and simply could not stop, until now. I told myself I will not touch another ball of yarn until I get this done!

So I did! And decided to have some fun with it while I was at it! I found some old photos of the previous versions so I decided to do a before and after with 2 of them.

But first, Tulle Princess!

This is a Perpetual Spring Luxe piece, complete with a girly touch of tulle! Which girl doesn’t fancy a dreamy floral piece?

Tulle Princess in Nude Beige (SGD$42) is a neutral and versatile piece which can be dressed up or dressed down, okay it might just be on the dressier side but still great with casuals! This is a tweaked version of the one I posted in my previous post.

Ivory Rose!

This was “Pretty as a bride” first, before it became Roxy Rose. I decided to name it Ivory Rose (SGD$39) as it sounds more simple and well, who was Roxy?

The current version of Ivory Rose.

The Roxy Rose then —–>>> Ivory Rose now.
Tulle Princess in Nude & Ivory Rose
A really old photo I found of Sherlyn wearing The Roxy Rose!

Black & Blue

Last but not least, Black & Blue! (SGD$39) Okay I didn’t change the name for this one because, you really can’t deviate far anyway.

Black & Blue then and now.

I have lost count of how many versions this piece has gone through! There was also a felt version of this. And now I’ve brought it back and “updated” it again! Unlike the previous version which had a raw edge blue flower, this version consists of 3 handsewn fabric rosettes and 2 singed fabric flowers, one black and one blue.

Which version do you like better?

Shop these florals and more here!

If you’ve been following The Perpetual Spring Collection all these years, you would have noticed that I lowered the prices of the pieces (Ivory Rose & Black & Blue included) and I thought I would share with you why I decided to do so…

When I “rebranded” to “Le Petit Cadeau”, we were pretty much in a terrible state no thanks to Covid19. With most people taking pay cuts, losing their jobs and struggling to hang on to their sanity, I wanted to make my pieces more affordable to everyone. After all, being in a pandemic situation doesn’t mean we should stop dressing well and wearing things that make us feel good about ourselves, right? The process of making them really makes me happy and getting messages from you when you have received your orders makes me even happier! I want to spread that love and joy as far as I can.

Remember, you don’t need to dress up for anyone but yourself, and we all know wearing floral pieces kinda makes you that much happier for some reason. :)
I’ll leave you with my latest stop motion animation short video!

Also, if you’re interested to get a TraceTogether token buddy for yourself, you can check them out here!

I Believe in PINK.

The florals are making a comeback!

If you’re not sure how to accessorise with florals, keep scrolling…

Floral statement pieces don’t have to be kept for special occasions or for days when you are feeling a lil more fancy. In fact, they’re perfect for every day wear and can be dressed up or dressed down.

Ana wears Tulle Princess with a simple white top, jeans and sneakers for a really cute weekend look. Who said florals can only be paired with dresses?

I first made Tulle Princess as a custom order for Ana along the lines of pink and the love for ballet, hence the tulle! (Thanks to the extra length of fabric and tulle I cut off from a rather expensive dress I bought for a wedding last year.)

Here is the remake version in Nude Pink! Same color tulle but paired with a slightly darker shade of pink. I paired in with a basic white crop top and denim jacket, I would wear maybe a long satin skirt in a neutral to pink tone with this and add sneakers to create a casual yet dressy look.

I’m considering doing another version in cream… Should I?

Crochet Blooms has been one of the favourites over the years! Probably cos it is easy to match with most outfits, and it’s a floral piece that isn’t overly “loud” but relatively neutral.

The “original” 6 “petal” version is available in pastel pink.

I also tried a 5 “petal” version in the same color. Which one do you prefer?

Floral Throwbacks!

Are you ready for a #floralthrowback?

pscollection-augsale

Many of you have asked if I still make floral statement pieces since I went back to the F&B industry close to 2 years ago, and the truth is I just haven’t had the time to sit down and really get creative apart from working on a couple of customised wedding bouquets. Now, waiting to begin a new job and adventure, I finally have some time to post items I made but have been too busy to add to the store and I have listed these at very special prices. :)

A BIG THANK YOU to each one of you for your support all these years! :)

*All items shown are the actual pieces and I won’t be doing remakes at the moment.

The Carnival Collection – Cause everyday should be a carnival!

If you’re following me on Instagram, you would have seen all the sneak peeks I’ve uploaded leading up to this launch, but… why Carnival? Well, it started out with three colors, Magenta, Hyacinth and Teal. They’re not exactly your “safe” colors, but think Mardi Gras and you’ll probably sink right in to the whole Carnival feel. Of course, Mardi Gras is a lot more outrageous than the pieces you will see in this collection, but I want these pieces to be wearable even on a daily basis.

Cause everyday should be a carnival!

Processed with VSCOcam with t1 preset

Coincidentally, Mardi Gras (also known as Fat Tuesday) was just two days ago!

Carnivals make people happy and creates positive vibes all around. Carnivals are bold and carnivals are expressive, did I say carnivals make people really happy? So why just day dream about going to a carnival (cause there’s really nothing like that in Singapore) if you can rock that happy vibe through your outfits and get others in a happy mood too?

Everyone has different tastes, and some may not be as quick to warm up to bold colors, so with that in mind I created a collection of varied looks, while still encapsulating that carnival vibe. Each piece is the final product of hours of snipping, arranging, rearranging, and more rearranging. I never know what a piece is going to look like until I’m done. But I create every piece with the same aim in mind, that it will cheer you up and inspire you even on the gloomiest days like a Carnival would!

Here’s Part 1 of The Carnival Collection! Happy Shopping!

Please note : As with all handmade pieces, no two remakes of a design will be carbon copies of each other.

Kaleidoscope Dreams – $45

All slots pending, invoices for this piece will be sent out within 24 hours. Thank you for the overwhelming response!

Just looking at this makes me happy! I couldn’t help editing this photo to create a realistic kaleidoscope effect!

flamingo_4

Carnival costumes often have “wings” or feathered head pieces that resemble birds or a peacock with it’s tail spread open. Apart from standing out in the crowd, I believe they portray confidence, uninhibited expression of oneself, daring to stand out and be bold, and that was the main inspiration behind the next few pieces.

We all need to remember to not be afraid to spread our wings in order to fly higher and reach greater heights!

The Psychedelic Bird – $39

Carnival Gems – $39

(In-stock sold, all remake slots pending)

A quirky combination of navy blue and mint green, topped with faux pearls on a string of pearls. Yes! More pearls!

Not quite loud and definitely not in your face, but Mardi Gras is never complete without strings of beads and pearls! This piece actually doubles up nicely as a drapping head piece!

I first created this design back in 2011, and if I remember correctly, it was called “Pretty as a bride” (I think).

sherylyn

Recenty some girls spotted Sherlyn wearing the 2011 version and have requested that I remake this sweet and simple piece that’s great for everyday wear. I heard you, so here it is; slightly tweaked and now in two color options. This time I’m giving it a fun name, Roxy!

The beauty of simplicity, the innocence and purity of white. Roxy will take you to school, work, date nights and brunch with friends.

roxyrose

Add some floral fun to a casual outfit or polish off your look in a fitted dress. How would YOU wear Roxy?

Roxy is available in Off white and Ivory, with limited remakes of each color. Please indicate your color preference when ordering.

I’ve been tweaking the design to get as close to the original version as possible, and have decided to stick with the less chunky version (3) for all future remakes. The 3 pieces below are in stock, (top left) 1. Roxy in Off white, (right) 2. Roxy in Ivory, (bottom left) 3. Roxy in Off white – remake version.

Weekend DIY : Cold Shoulder Tee

Some call it a cut-out shoulder, some call it a cold shoulder, whatever it is, this look is practically EVERYWHERE right now. Dresses, tops, sweaters. Which makes me wonder, if you wear a cold shoulder sweater, doesn’t that completely defeat the purpose of wearing a sweater in the first place? Just saying.

I didn’t work on a DIY project myself this weekend so here’s a very easy DIY idea from Love Aesthetics!

loveaestheticscuttingseason000

All you need is a fitting tee that you don’t mind cutting up. Decide how large you want your cut out to be and cut away!

loveaestheticscuttingseason00

And done! The thing with using tees is that you probably won’t have to hem it, most tee shirt materials are very “forgiving” in that sense, they hardly fray.

loveaestheticscuttingseason00-2

You don’t have to stick to fitted tees though, you could probably try this on slouchy sweat shirts, skater dresses, denim shirts (yes! denim shirts sounds fab!) Just get creative!

Anyone trying this anytime soon? :)

Christmas day OOTD.

I had totally forgotten about this gorgeous Miu Miu-inspired clutch I got over a year ago while I was sorting out my stuff the other day, I know, how could I forget I have such a pretty bag? Paired it with a “vintage”, well, hand me down white bodycon dress that belonged to my sister, and my Marc Jacobs time piece. I’m still trying to grow into the dress tho, it’s still a tad loose for me since I’ve been losing weight more so than putting on any kilos at all, but classy, definitely.

IMG_20121225_210526

I reckon a haircut is in order, it’s already grown to my hip level. Oh the horror.

I’m still trying to convince myself I deserve another day or two of rest before I dive head on into work, and I can’t believe I still haven’t gotten my scheduler for 2013! There’s so much I want to do in the new year, although I have yet to solidify my new year’s resolutions, (like anyone really sticks to them anyway) I definitely need to get my life back on track once and for all. Let’s just say 2012 turned out to be a lot less than pleasant; sure there were good times, but still not enough to equal out the bad. :/

Oh wells, I’m gonna try to start with one resolution tonight, and that’s being in bed before 1am. Read about my christmas bakes soon!

Merry Christmas everyone! ♥ xx

we be pimpin'

isn’t he just soooooooo cute? :)

one of my latest “experiments”, inspired by the cataracs, top of the world mv. it’s not as BLING BLING as the original but it’ll do for now… i’ll probably be making a few variations of these so the usual bunch of us can hit butter cataracs-style. orrrr use them for dares… would you walk around town with these on? actually, come to think of it… knowing me, i would! dare me!

(please don’t watch this if you’re underaged, or if your folks are around.)

ahhhhh the style scouts finals is tomorrow. i can’t wait to meet the rest of the finalists… i mean, i’m not really hard up on winning it, (altho that would be like the icing on the cake, which might take some sort of a miracle) i think it’s the experience and what i learn from it that matters… i do know tho that i’m no hardcore fashion blogger. i might be clueless if you throw me a string of designer names but hey! a friend of mine said it best, “you’re unique”.

…afterall, fashion is about being unique, isn’t it? if you could be special, why would you wanna be like everyone else?
